Sale allowed eight runs on nine hits and a walk over four innings against the A's on Saturday. He struck out four.

It was a rough day for Sale, who allowed six runs in his first two innings before Brent Rooker added two more with a home run in the fourth. Sale hadn't allowed more than one run in six straight starts prior to Saturday while recording eight or more strikeouts in each of his last five outings. Overall, the veteran left-hander is 8-1 on the season with a 3.06 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 82:10 K:BB across 67.2 innings. Sale will look to right the ship in his next start, currently scheduled for next week in Washington.

Gasser didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out three in five innings.

All three of the runs against Gasser came via the home-run ball Saturday -- an Andrew Benintendi solo shot in the third inning followed by a two-run blast off the bat of Gavin Sheets in the fourth. It's just the second time in five starts that Gasser's allowed more than one run. Overall, the left-hander is 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16 strikeouts while issuing just one walk through his first 28 innings. Gasser's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Tigers in his next outing.

Suarez was removed from Saturday's game against the Cardinals with a left hand contusion after being struck by a 106.1 MPH comebacker in the second inning, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Suarez didn't allow a baserunner and struck out two hitters over two innings.

Early reports indicate that Suarez is only dealing with a bruised throwing hand after being hit by a comebacker off the bat of Alec Burleson on Saturday. After Suarez's two perfect innings, Jose Ruiz will take over on the mound. The Phillies will likely continue to evaluate Suarez throughout the evening to ensure that the injury is merely a contusion and nothing long term. Thankfully for Suarez managers, the Phillies have back-to-back days off next week and the ace's next start is scheduled for June 8.

Kim went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, three RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Royals.

Kim led off the third inning with a triple before coming around to score on a Luis Arraez sacrifice fly. He'd then provide what proved to be the game-deciding hit in the fourth, driving in three runs with a base-clearing double to put the Padres ahead 5-3. Kim's now 4-for-10 with three extra-base hits in his last three games. After a slow start to the year, he's gotten his slash line up to .222/.332/.384 with seven homers, 31 runs scored, 27 RBI and 13 steals across 60 contests.

Ginkel's (leg) X-rays came back negative and can be considered day-to-day, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports Saturday.

Ginkel took a hard-hit comebacker to his left leg during Saturday's game against the Mets and was immediately removed from the contest. However, he seems to have avoided significant injury and manager Torey Lovullo expressed optimism that Ginkel could be ready as soon as Sunday. Ginkel owns a 4.09 ERA across 22.0 innings this season.

Tatis went 3-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 7-3 win over Kansas City.

Tatis opened the scoring in the first inning with a 422-foot solo shot off Alec Marsh, his 10th homer of the season. The 25-year-old Tatis has at least one hit in his last seven games, going 11-for-29 (.379) in that span. He's now slashing .261/.340/.433 with 38 runs scored, 30 RBI and six stolen bases across 268 plate appearances this year.

Young is day-to-day with swelling in his throwing hand, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports Saturday.

The swelling occurred during early portions of Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians and Young opted to report it to a team trainer during a pitching change in the sixth inning, resulting in his removal from the game. His status for Sunday's game remains up in the air and won't be known until closer to first pitch.

Vasquez (1-3) earned the win Saturday over the Royals, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.

After allowing a two-run homer to Vinnie Pasquantino in the first inning, Vasquez ultimately settled in and held the Royals to one run over his final four frames to earn the win. It's the first win in six starts for Vasquez this season, who was recalled for a spot start after Joe Musgrove (elbow) was scratched. Overall, the 25-year-old Vasquez sports a 5.74 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB across 26.2 innings with the Padres this year. He could be in for an extended stay in the rotation with Musgrove joining Yu Darvish (groin) on the IL. Vasquez would currently line up for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks next week.

Estrada is considered day-to-day after jamming his thumb during Friday's game against the Yankees, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Saturday's absence from the lineup is more than just a day off for the second baseman, who picked up a minor thumb injury in the series opener against New York. Estrada was deemed day-to-day and won't have the benefit of a team-wide rest day until Thursday. If Estrada is forced to miss more time, Brett Wisely would likely fill the gap at second.

Winn (forearm) will start a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Sacramento, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Giants' manager Bob Melvin hinted earlier this week that Winn could've been activated from the IL and rejoined the big-league rotation as soon as Monday or Tuesday. However, we now know Winn will need a rehab stint before being reinstated. Considering Winn threw 45 pitches in a bullpen May 27, it's likely he'll only need one or two minor-league appearances before getting the green light.
